FRAMESPORT
FRAMESPORT – FRAMEwork initiative fostering the Sustainable development of Adriatic small PORTs, is a project funded under the Italy - Croatia Territorial Cooperation Program.
The project, which will develop over 36 months, sees the participation of 15 partners and 12 associates, both Italian and Croatian, with CORILA as coordinator.
FRAMESPORT project aims at supporting and driving an integrated and sustainable development of small ports of the Adriatic coasts through a new strategy framework able to make them pro-active socio-economic drivers of this improvement. Such an objective calls for a multifaceted approach, including both the adoption of concrete pilot actions and the identification of priority themes to be promoted within the overall strategy. Priority themes will be identified by means of a bottom-up approach that will involve local and national stakeholders since the project inception phase. Partners, selected to guarantee a wide territorial approach, will address planning and management topics, business models implementation, enhancement of training and competence, as well as development of ICT tools and services, thus they will support an effective development of small ports in the whole IT-HR area. Furthermore, a tailor-made ICT platform will collect and systematize relevant data on small ports to be shared as starting point for any further development. FRAMESPORT will build a new strategic framework by integrating the existing knowledge and capitalizing results from pilot initiatives in order to boost performances and sustainability of small-scale maritime nodes along the Adriatic coasts.

Overall objective
FRAMESPORT main objective is to support and drive a homogeneous improvement of Adriatic small ports with regards to sustainability, competitiveness and attractiveness. This will be obtained through:
• the delivery of a common strategic framework for improving small ports sustainable development in the long run;
• the development of an ICT platform as an innovative tool for management, implementation and information exchange (e.g. best practices) of small ports;
• the improvement of competences for an harmonized planning and management of small ports, orienting their future development, thus contributing in elevating their role as drivers for sustainable growth of coastal areas.
In this purpose, the strategic framework developed in FRAMEPORT project will tackle a wide set of priority topics to be faced by small ports in order to enhance and improve their potentialities.
Main results
FRAMESPORT efforts will produce two main outcomes:
1) the definition of a common strategic approach in the systematization of relevant data on small ports which will result in an ICT platform collecting information on their infrastructures, data coming from different types of sensors and on their potentialities. This will be achieved also thanks to the cooperation with the stakeholders involved in small ports development.
2) the outlined Strategy will result in an open opportunity for each small port to improve the planning and management of facilities, services and business models for a sustainable development and to further improve their efficiency.
