Heritage and Resilience. The experience of Venice at the 4th Global Platform for Disaster Risk Reduction

The Global Platform for Disaster Reduction,  biennial forum, organized by the United Nations,  to improve the implementation of disaster risk reduction strategy, is taking place in Geneva on 19-23 May 2013. The Mayor of Venice has been invited to present the experience of Venice.

Erasmus Mundus Master Course on Maritime Spatial Planning: the call for application is open

The Master is organized by a Consortium that includes three European universities ( Università IUAV di Venezia, University of Sevilla and University of Azores) and several associated members such as UNESCO-IOC, EUCC and CORILA. The deadline of the call for application is the 3rd of February.

Workshop “EGNOS and GALILEO for marine and maritime applications”

NEREUS, in collaboration with Veneto Region and CORILA, is organizing a workshop on "EGNOS and Galileo for marine and maritime applications: opportunities and challenges for European regions" on 16th and 17th April 2012 in Venice/Veneto region. The workshop aims at raising awareness for the potential opportunities to exploit EGNOS and GALILEO technologies for applications in the marine and maritime sector.

Conference "Building Cities Resilience to Disasters"

The United Nations International Strategy for Disaster Reduction (UNISDR) and the City of Venice, in collaboration with CORILA organized the event “Building Cities Resilience to Disasters: Protecting Cultural Heritage and Adapting to Climate Change” which was held in Venice, Doge’s Palace, St Mark’s Square, on  19-20  March 2012.

A delegation from Venice in Chicago participated in a roundtable OECD

The Venetian delegation, composed by the Major of Venice, Giorgio Orsoni, the diplomatic advisor, Antonio Armellini, and the Director of CORILA, Pierpaolo  Campostrini, participated in a roundtable of ministers and mayors of the OECD which was held in Chicago (Illinois) on 8 March 2012.
